Abby Van Sice
Abby Van Sice is a director of orchestras at Ford Middle School. She is a graduate of the University of North Texas where she earned her Bachelor’s degrees in Music Education and Performance in 2023. During her time at UNT, Abby served as a beginner strings teacher for the university’s String Project under Dr. Elizabeth Chappell, allowing her the privilege to guide young musicians through some of their first ever lessons and performances. She has been fortunate to maintain her own private studio, which also began during this time, and has instructed students on various instruments ranging from violin, piano, and flute. Prior to her graduation, Abby completed her student teaching in Denton ISD at Ryan High School and Myers Middle School. Through these valuable experiences, Abby has had the honor to celebrate the many successes of the budding artists around her and share the same joys in playing that drew her to music in the first place, and looks forward to continuing this endeavor that she hopes inspires a lifelong connection and appreciation of the arts in others. In her free time, Abby most enjoys spending time with her dog, Rosie, reading, and baking!
